A Commercial Release 78 rpm is your "average" 78 rpm record (from the 30's-50's), that was purchased already recorded. The record was pressed in thousands of copies and has a colorful label, printed with the name of the artist and song/album. Many of these records come in "albums" (thus the name we still use today: "album"). This type of record is made of shellac (a material that is heavy and breakable).

Audio DAT Tapes
Digital Audio Tape (DAT or R-DAT) is a signal recording and playback medium developed by Sony and introduced in 1987. Like most formats of videocassette, a DAT cassette may only be recorded and played in one direction, unlike an analog compact audio cassette.
